BROOKLINE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared in Brookline on Saturday to support Brookline Select Board candidate Raul Fernandez.
The First Parish Church in Brookline was packed Saturday for the rally. Ocasio-Cortez came to help Fernandez fundraise and inspire campaign volunteers and supporters ahead of Tuesday’s election.
“I think Raul is a fabulous example of what we all need to be doing as individuals in the country,” Ocasio-Cortez told The Boston Globe on Saturday.
“To have her support here is obviously phenomenal,” Fernandez said.“Who better to help us do that than someone like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who ran an upstart campaign, who ran a grassroots campaign, who knows what it takes to break through, especially for a new candidate.”
Like Ocasio-Cortez, building a more inclusive government is one of Fernandez’s top priorities.
