Amesbury Teenager Dies In Maine Snowmobile Crash, Community Mourns Loss

PORTLAND, Maine (WBZ NewsRadio) — A teenager, from Amesbury, is dead following a snowmobile crash in Portland, Maine.

Troy Marden, 17, hit a snowbank after failing to negotiate a turn around 11 p.m. Saturday, according to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Marden was ejected from the snowmobile.

Afterward, another person on a snowmobile tried to assist him. Marden died at the scene.

Marden was a football player at Amesbury High School.

“[Marden] walked the halls and people knew him, and he smiled. And everyone enjoyed being with him. He was a pretty remarkable young man,” Amesbury High School Principal Elizabeth McAndrews told WBZ-TV.
