NATICK, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Children at the Morse Institute Library in Natick got to meet some tall therapy animals on Wednesday.
Matt Varrell from the Harvard Alpaca Ranch brought two of the ranch’s therapy alpacas named Sir Eric and Summer Rain. Children got the chance to pet the animals and learn more about alpacas.
“They just have really soft fur, which I didn’t know because when you look at them, it looks like it would be rough and short and it wouldn't feel really good,” said 12-year-old Noah after his close-up encounter with the alpacas. “[It] actually feels nice.”
Varrell and his alpacas travel to schools, libraries and nursing homes to bring joy and comfort to everyone they meet. On the weekends, the public can visit Sir Eric, Summer Rain and more of their alpaca friends at the Harvard Alpaca Ranch.
