BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hasty Pudding Theatricals has named its 2024 Woman of the Year: Academy Award-nominated actress Annette Bening.

Bening scored a Best Actress nomination at this year's Oscars for her starring role in "Nyad," and has previously been nominated four other times for roles in "The Grifters," "American Beauty," "Being Julia," and "The Kids Are All Right."

She is a 10-time Golden Globe nominee, winning twice for "Being Julia" and "The Kids Are All Right." Bening has also won a BAFTA Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and has been nominated twice for a Tony Award.

Previous Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year Award recipients include Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, Kerry Washington, and last year's honoree, Jennifer Coolidge.

The Woman of the Year ceremony was originally scheduled for Jan. 26, but the Harvard University theatrical society postponed it due to "unforeseen conflicts."

The festivities will now take place Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Farkas Hall. Bening will attend a roast and be presented with her Pudding Pot. Afterwards, she will attend a performance of Hasty Pudding's new musical "Heist Heist Baby."

Details on the annual Woman of the Year parade through Harvard Square have not been announced.

Hasty Pudding's Man of the Year ceremony will take place Friday. This year's recipient is Academy Award-nominated actor Barry Keoghan.
