BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Alleyways and courtyards around Beacon Hill were decked out with local art and architecture for the annual Art Walk over the weekend.
Since 1990, the event has been held on the first Sunday of June, and features artists both displaying and selling their work in private alleys opened to patrons.
More than 100 artists were selling their work, and musicians performed live music.
Dominique is a Lithograph artist from France and has taken part in the Art Walk for the past 20 years.
He spoke about what keeps bringing him back year after year.
“I like the showrooms, I like the alleys, I like the people. I’ve never seen a place where there are so many people coming to see art,” said Dominique. “What else could I ask for?”
It’s common for other artists to head to the event, like Melissa, who said she always looks forward to this event.
“That was part of the allure of being part of this event, these little alleyways, being inspired by the location as well,” said Melissa. “As an artist, this is a pretty cool place to be.”
