Another 2,200 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Massachusetts

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported another 2,200 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Saturday, bringing the state's total number of confirmed cases to 164,936.

The state DPH also confirmed another 23 deaths among confirmed cases. To date, there have been 9,903 deaths among confirmed coronavirus cases in the Commonwealth.

More than 6.6 million molecular tests have been administered to residents in Massachusetts, and more than 202,000 individuals have been tested by Antigen tests.

The state's seven-day average rate of positive molecular coronavirus tests has risen to 2.27 percent, which is double the rate it was a month ago.

According to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Research Center, the U.S. has confirmed more than 9.8 million cases of COVID-19, and more than 236,000 Americans have died of the virus to date.
