Another Coronavirus Outbreak At Sam's Club In Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — According to Worcester City officials, another "cluster" of COVID-19 cases have been reported among employees at the Sam's Club distribution center.

Worcester City Manager Ed Augustus said the center is an e-commerce distribution facility, meaning it is not open to the public and only employees were exposed.

"Our folks have been down there talking to them. They feel like they're doing everything they should," Augusta said. "They're following the right protocols."

This is not the first time an outbreak of coronavirus has been report among employees within the store, or within the same shopping complex.

Last month, nine employees at the Worcester Sam's Club distribution center tested positive for the virus, and 81 employees of the neighboring Walmart Super Center also had COVID-19.
