BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The anticipation is building for the running of the 128th Boston Marathon next week.

Preparations were underway on Tuesday as workers were putting the finishing touches at the marathon finish line on Boylston Street including a fresh paint job. "I get so excited remembering the years I ran it," said this former marathoner at the finish line on Tuesday. "I just can't wait for all the excitement to be here."

Another fan looking forward to the race said the marathon is a uniquely Boston event. "It's just a great event for Boston and for the area. It's a lot of fun."

The MBTA has been reminding runners, supporters, and commuters that the Framingham-Worcester line will be running on a dedicated marathon schedule starting on April 14 through the 15th, the day of the marathon.
