Apparent Murder-Suicide Under Investigation In Somerset

SOMERSET, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts State Police are investigating an "apparent murder-suicide" after a recently-separated couple were found dead in their home on Saturday.

At around 8 a.m., Somerset Police received a 911 call from a family member who had discovered two people deceased inside Amber and Joshua Pereira's home on Thelma Avenue.

When police arrived, they found Amber and Joshua both dead with gunshot wounds, and a gun was found underneath Joshua.

According to Bristol District Attorney's office, a preliminary investigation revealed that Joshua had recently moved out of the home after they had separated.

Shortly before 8 a.m., Joshua had driven to their home on Thelma Avenue. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots coming from the home after his arrival.

The Bristol DA's office said the case is still under investigation, but it does not appear any other individuals were in the home or were involved in the incident.
