Suspected Noose Found On Tree In Swampscott Park

SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Swampscott Police are requesting the public's help after they found what appeared to be a noose in a public park.

Police said they found the noose-like object made of rope hanging from a tree in Linscott Park on Monday morning. It was hanging about four feet off the ground.

"The SPD is hoping that this was left behind and used for an alternate purpose other than what it appears to be," they said on Facebook.

The discovery of the rope comes within a day of the Swampscott Board of Selectmen releasing a report on a Black Lives Matter protestor charged with assaulting a Trump supporter last year.

The Board of Selectmen will release the report Tuesday.
