ROXBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Art and architecture historian Julia Barber is using photography to help preserve some of New England's most historic and unique houses.
Barber, who is from Providence, explores New England neighborhoods, taking photos of old homes and posting them on her Instagram.
"All of these homes that were built in the Victorian era, to me they're made more beautiful than they need to be, and I love that," said Barber.
Barber hopes her photographs will inspire others to look for hidden gems in their own neighborhoods.
"Look around and be curious, take all the pictures that you possible can because it's a great way of learning how to look, teaching yourself how to look, teaching yourself what to look at," Barber said.
