BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — If you've registered in the state's VaxMillions Giveaway vaccine lottery, you have some pretty good odds — about 400,000 to 1, according to Gov. Charlie Baker's office.

While that may seem steep, it's much better than the regular lottery: the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 300 million to 1. The first drawing of the Giveaway is Monday, with results announced on Thursday.

Adults who enter the VaxMillions program could win a million dollars, while minors between ages 12 and 17 would win a $300,000 scholarship. Kids have an even better chance of winning the scholarship, at 1 in 26,977.

Monday's drawing is open for those who had been fully vaccinated and signed up as of Thursday, July 22. It's the first of five drawings, and the deadline to register for the next one is July 29.
