TAUNTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An 11-week-old kitten in Taunton was saved from a precarious hiding place Wednesday.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston said a Taunton resident needed assistance after the kitten nestled into the engine block of their car. The resident had previously noticed the kitten and its mother in the yard and told ARL that every time they would step outside, the kitten would scamper underneath the vehicle.

Needing to get to an appointment, the resident contacted ARL to remove the kitten safely. Two ARL Field Services agents responded, coaxed the kitten out of the engine block with treats, then safely trapped him, ARL officials said.

After trapping the mother, ARL agents transported the two felines to ARL’s Boston Animal Care and Adoption Center.

ARL said once the cats are spayed and neutered, they will be available for adoption.
