BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A suspect has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an MIT student in the Back Bay Saturday night, police said Tuesday.

The student said she was walking back to her sorority house on Beacon Street when she was approached by a man on a bicycle asking for food. The man allegedly groped the student from behind, followed her into the house, and assaulted her.

Police said the woman fought off her attacker and called 911 as he fled on a bicycle.

Following the incident, police released a grainy photo of the suspect, describing him as a Middle Eastern man with dark curly hair and possibly a goatee.

On Tuesday, officers arrested 33-year-old Nahom Getaneh in the area of Atkinson Street and Southampton Street in Boston, police said. Getaneh is a Level 3 registered sex offender in Massachusetts, which according to the Sex Offender Registry Board means he has a "high risk of re-offending" and poses a "high degree of danger to the public."
