ASHBURNHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A suspect is in custody after a police standoff across the street from a school in Ashburnham.
Massachusetts State Police said the suspect was fleeing a traffic stop in Winchendon and drove into the woods along Route 101.
Police said the suspect wouldn't come out of their car.
Cushing Academy Head of School Randy Bertin told WBZ NewsRadio the school was aware of the situation, but that the school had not been placed on lockdown despite earlier reports.
There was no immediate update on charges for the suspect.
