Attleboro Dog Wins Big In Therapy Category of ACE Awards

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — "Teddy," an 8-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog from Attleboro, won one of the American Kennel Club's Humane Fund Awards For Canine Excellence (ACE). Teddy, along with his owners George, Pamela, and Caleigh Brown, brought home the 2021 ACE Award for the Therapy Dog category out of a pool of nearly a thousand nominations.

According to the AKC's website, Teddy was certified by Dog Bone's Therapy Dogs and K9 First Responders, Inc., and has provided support for a range of situations, from mourning individuals to most recently giving U.S Capitol Police one-on-one and group attention.

The AKC wrote that Teddy is a member of one school's Suppress the Stress club, working as a reading companion dog for educationally challenged students among other support roles with students and teachers.
