Authorities say they responded to an armed robbery attempt at around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lucky Lotto convenience store in Attleboro, Mass. In a press release, Attleboro police say the suspect was walking around the store before he left to grab a clear glass beer bottle filled with flammable liquid. When the clerk confronted the suspect about the bottle, the man allegedly said he was there to rob the store and threatened to burn it to the ground.

After the clerk refused to give him any money, police say the suspect dumped the liquid onto the rug by the doorway and ignited the fluid, causing a small fire. The clerk was able to extinguish the fire, as the suspect took off down Washington Street.

Attleboro police said this is still an active investigation and anyone with information should contact the Attleboro Police Department Detective Division.
