Attleboro Residents Begin To Garden At Home

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Residents in Attleboro are turning to gardening during their now-abundant time at home.

Steve Shumila, who works at the Briggs Garden and Home in North Attleboro, told WBZ NewsRadio's Kim Tunnicliffe that he is seeing a lot of interest in vegetable growing and mulch.

"Everyone's being very good about making their phone orders, we are doing curbside pickup," Shumila said. "They call in, pay by credit card, and we put the product out front."

However, business has been down about 50 percent from where they were this time last year, according to Shumila.

"That'll only get worse as we get later in the month," Shumila said. "Our sales increased rapidly, may they stay peaked."
