Auburn Police: Shots Fired During Road Rage Incident, Bullet Hits Vehicle

AUBURN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Just before 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, shots were fired in Auburn over an apparent road rage incident on the southbound side of West Street.

The Auburn Police Department said on Facebook that two witnesses say the operator of the white truck was "aggressively" driving south when they pulled over along with another vehicle described to be a gold Ford Escape near Hardscrabble Road.

According to police, witnesses recounted passing the two vehicles, when a shot was fired, and a bullet struck the rear of the bystander's vehicle.

Officials are asking the public for any information in connection to the incident, and say any tips can be submitted anonymously.
