DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Peter H. Reynolds thinks educators have one of the toughest jobs in the world.

"During COVID, it became really hard, and now it just gets harder and harder to be a great teacher," Reynolds told WBZ NewsRadio Friday.

The Canadian-born author and illustrator lives in Dedham and co-owns The Blue Bunny Books & Toys, his family owned bookstore in Dedham Square. As a way to give back to teachers, Reynolds and his brother Paul are turning a nearby old bank into a creative space for teachers.

The space will be called TLC Studios, which stands for Teaching, Learning and Creating. It takes its name from the brothers' non-profit The Reynolds Center for Teaching, Learning and Creating.

"We wanted to create a wonderland filled with digital tools and analog tools to help teachers recharge their creativity," Peter said. "Also to help them tell their stories and then go back into the classroom and bring that creativity to their kids, help kids tell their stories too."

TLC Studios will include a miniature TV studio, podcast studio, green screen, library, presentation space, and wall of inspiration.

The bank vault will become home to the Peter H. Reynolds Picture Book Museum, featuring Peter’s original artwork.
