LAWRENCE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Authorities are still seeking information after a dog was found dead near a school in Lawrence back in March.
The Animal Rescue League of Boston and Lawrence Police said the dog died from extensive abuse.
A Lawrence Police officer found the 1-year-old female Jack Russell Terrier-type dog on a walking trail behind South Lawrence East Middle School on March 17 around 10:45 a.m.
The dog had been partially wrapped in a pee pad and put into a black plastic bag. It was also determined the dog was mutilated after being killed, which authorities said adds “an extra layer of public concern for investigators.”
