Authorities Raid A Springfield Apartment, Resulting In Arrest Of The Target

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — On Thursday morning, Massachusetts State Troopers, along with federal law enforcement agents and local police officers raided a Springfield apartment that was suspected to be a cocaine distribution operation.

The raid team executed their search warrant at around 9:30 a.m. at the second floor apartment at 93 Acushnet Ave, according to state police.

From the search, the team found $183,928 in bulk US currency, 300 Oxycodone pills, 169 grams of suspected cocaine, a 9mm Taurus PT80 pistol, and a Walther P22 pistol.

The suspect, 41-year-old Mario Monge, was detained outside of the apartment during the search warrant execution.
