BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) announced a special four-year partnership on Thursday with the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center (RLTAC) at Roxbury Community College.

“[This is] the first of its kind for the Boston Athletic Association,” said Jack Fleming, president of the BAA.

The BAA pledged to give $700,000 over four years to the RLTAC to "advance the athletic programming and opportunities in this wonderful community space," Fleming said.

The partnership also includes some charity marathon invitationals to give Roxbury Community College runners another opportunity to raise even more funds. The combined total could reach $1.3 million.

RLTAC Executive Director Michael Turner said the partnership will help bring things like fitness classes, mindfulness training, and talks on healthy eating to the center.

The Reggie also plans to announce a series of events for 2025, including a golf tournament and a 5K in Franklin Park, to mark the 30th anniversary of the athletic facility.
