Gov. Baker Responds To DA Rollins' Criticism

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Gov. Charlie Baker’s administration has responded to criticism by Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins.

Rollins defended her policies that work to limit mass incarceration and racial disparities in the criminal justice system on Friday. While speaking, she took a shot at Baker, whose son was accused of groping a woman on a plane last year.

“Not everyone gets the benefit of the Baker family when they have interacted with the criminal justice system,” Rollins said.

Baker said he called Rollins following her remarks.

“And we basically just talked about public safety and working together. And I think it was a very constructive and helpful conversation and I think we’re going to try to hit the reset button and start again on Monday,” Baker said.
