WORCESTER (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police say three people are facing charges and a teenager was tased after a Worcester baseball brawl.

Worcester officers say they were called to Kendrick Field at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday for a report of a large fight. Witnesses told police that the fight broke out at the end of a baseball game as players had formed lines to shake hands. They said both family and players were involved. One man was even tackled to the ground and lightly injured.

As the officers stayed on the scene, they say one family became angry, saying someone on the field had punched one of them. Police said 17-year-old boy broke away from the family and started running at another group of people on the field. The boy was caught and held back by police. The officer on scene said he eventually had to use a taser on the 17-year-old as he slipped away again "to stop the impending assault" of the other group of people.

The teen was charged with two counts of assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace.

Two adults, both of Worcester, are being summonsed to court for assault and battery charges.
