Bear Spotted In Chicopee

CHICOPEE (WBZ NewsRadio) — A bear has been sighted near Parenteau Court and Memorial Drive in Chicopee, according to Chicopee Police.

Multiple reports came in around 8:30 Thursday morning, and authorities are asking residents to leave the bear alone.

"Just leave the bear alone and it will go back to the woods," advise the police department. "Remove sources of food. Thank you."

It's unclear if the bear has gone "back to the woods" yet.
