BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The name of the composition was called 'Purification Process,' and it took cellist Keefer Glenshaw of Cambridge 24 hours to perform it.
That was by choice as the Berklee College of Music student completed an endurance performance piece over the weekend at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design before a small audience that included family and friends.
As he played for 24 continuous hours (with brief breaks), he recited a mantra "Time never sleeps. Roses always wither. Purity is right here."
Once the marathon performance was over, he said he felt surprisingly ok, but drained. "I can't quite comprehend anything that's happening right now," he said. "I thought I was on a different planet, and I'm barely standing."
He said he was looking forward to going home and getting some rest.
