REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Passengers on the MBTA Blue Line are not just getting a free ride during the Sumner Tunnel closure, but a free concert as well.

Musicians from Berklee College of Music performed for riders outside the main entrance of the Wonderland "T" stop in Revere Thursday morning. The trio included Berklee senior Liz Sinn on keyboards and Berklee alumni Noah Harrington on double bass and Gen Yoshimura on percussion.

"We are doing this because we thought it would be a nice experience to play at a new place," Sinn told WBZ NewsRadio Thursday. "We’ve never played at a train station before, I guess most people don’t, so we thought it might be cool to cheer people up on their way to work."

Berklee has partnered with MBTA and MassDOT to host musicians at select Blue Line stops on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the summer as a way to brighten the commute.

"I really like unusual things, so I thought it was a pretty cool opportunity," said Sinn. "Sometimes it’s nicer than playing in, like, a stuffy concert hall."

The collaboration kicked off Tuesday at the Aquarium stop with a performance by Berklee alumna elishéva and backing guitarist Pritesh Walia.
