Berklee Student Grace Kinstler Dominates American Idol Stage

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Berklee College of Music student and American Idol contestant Grace Kinstler blew the judges away Sunday night with her solo and duet performances.

Kinstler sang “Queen” by Jessie J as her solo performance. Then, she and artist Joss Stone sang “Midnight Train to Georgia” by Gladys Knight & The Pips.

The judges had high praise for Kinstler’s performance following her duet.

“Let me just compose myself because your voice quality and who you are, with that voice, your confidence, the way you portray yourself on stage, it’s a winning package,” Lionel Richie said.

“That duet was timeless,” Katy Perry said. “You were soaring on a different level.”

“I am so excited to be a party of this, to watch you grow as an artist and a performer,” Luke Bryan said. “I just can’t believe I have a front row seat. I think there’s no surprise I’ve been a fan since day one.”

Two other Massachusetts natives, Beane and Colin Jamieson, are set to perform Monday night. Beane is from Brighton and Jamieson is from Boxford.
