BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Bay State came in at number one in a recent study ranking the best states for millennials.

Wallethub used several factors, including affordability, quality of life, education and health, economic health, and civic engagement to determine the rankings.

The company ranked Massachusetts first in education and health, second in quality of life, and third in economic health.

It ranked sixteenth in civic engagement, and had a middling twenty-fourth in affordability—with the fifth-highest housing cost for millennials.

However, it was the state with the fourth-highest average earnings for millennials.

The District of Columbia came in at second overall, while Washington state ranked third. West Virginia came in last.
