Bicyclist Hit And Killed On Blue Hills Parkway In Milton Tuesday Afternoon

MILTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A bicyclist was killed following a collision involving a truck on Blue Hills Parkway in Milton Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Massachusetts State Police, the accident happened at about 3 p.m. Police said it appeared that a large utility truck was traveling northbound on Blue Hills Parkway and taking a right onto Eliot Street when it hit the bicyclist.

The 62-year-old man who was driving the truck was transported to an area hospital. The bicyclist died at the scene.

Police said the bicyclist was a 70-year-old woman from Dorchester. Her name has not been released.

The crash remains under investigation by state troopers. There were lane closures for several hours to allow authorities to investigate.

Milton Police, Milton Fire and Fallon EMS all responded to the scene, which was cleared shortly before 7:30 p.m.
