BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Sunday is the third and final day of the city’s premier music festival, Boston Calling 2023.
Some of the world’s biggest acts performed in Allston at the Harvard Athletic Complex over three days on four stages: Green, Happy Valley, Blue, and Tivoli Audio.
Phenomenal weather graced the festival all three days.
On Friday, the Foo Fighters headlined Day One featuring their new drummer Josh Freese who replaced Taylor Hawkins, the band’s longtime drummer who died tragically last year. Also on the opening bill were the Beaches, the National, and local favorites Dropkick Murphys.
On Saturday, the Lumineers, the Flaming Lips, and Alanis Morissette were among the performers.
And on Sunday, featured performers include Paramore and Queens of the Stone Age. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu took the stage to introduce the Linda Lindas for their first-ever Boston Calling appearance.
This was the 10th anniversary of Boston Calling. It debuted in May 2013 and used to take place twice a year, May, and September, at City Hall Plaza. Boston Calling made the move in 2017 to its current venue, the Harvard Athletic Complex.
