BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Bostonians hoping to watch acrobatic acts with a splash of comedy are in for a real treat this fall. "The Great Mr. Swindle’s Traveling Peculiarium" stops in Massachusetts for a series of spectacular events lasting until November 6, for a classic and vintage display accompanied with enchanting beverages from Dr. Elixir's Drink-Ory Garden.

The traveling production comes from Salto Entertainment of Florida, spearheading up the east coast to bring the Commonwealth stunts including motorcycle acts from the Moto Maniacs and the steampunk-themed antics from FLIPPIN.

The temperature-controlled big top tent popped up outside the Harpoon Brewery in Boston's Seaport District. WBZ's James Rojas spoke to Matthew Morgan otherwise known as Dr. Elixir, just as he was about to appear center stage.

"I'm not really a deceitful, deceptive criminal, I just play one onstage. This is like a vintage, variety show of old, like a medicine, traveling show that would pop into town, take all of your money— they're gone before you ever wake up," Morgan said.

The adult entertainment includes "The Spinologist," "The Suspended Passion," "The Contorted," "The Tangled," and "The Gravitational Wheel."

Co-Owner Allison Blei says the show is something to see to believe, and more about bringing some new from the past.

"The acrobats, aerialists, contortionists, entertainment that you've never seen before— there's a lot of shock value and that's where the belly laughter comes from. Sometimes you just have to see something you've never seen before to get that kind of reaction out of people," Blei said.
