BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Former Massachusetts Governor and republican challenger for president Bill Weld is calling on his fellow republicans to support the impeachment inquiry of President Trump and oust him from office.
"I would vote to convict and remove this president from office," Weld said at a news conference at a frosty Faneuil Hall Friday, "It's for the good of the nation really. If you blink, if we don't discharge our responsibility through our elected representatives as a nation to remove this man from office, given what he has done, then no one will ever be removed from office."
Weld was counsel to the House of Representatives impeachment inquiry staff during the investigation of president Richard Nixon in 1974.
