Boil Water Order In Effect For South Coast Towns

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — For the second time in less than a month, the Town of Fairhaven has issued a boil water order because of E Coli.

The order went into effect on Wednesday and will be in place until further notice. This is after, E Coli was detected at the Mattapoisett Water Treatment Plant.

In addition to Fairhaven, the order is in effect for Marion, Rochester and Mattapoisett.

The town said, a "drinking water problem corrected" notice will be published by the Neighborhood News in this week's edition and residents are asked to disregard that.

They add, corrective actions have been implemented which includes flushing, resampling and chlorination.
