BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — As the Feb. school break fast approaches, students and families across Mass. deal with the annual conundrum of finding a way to spend the week-long recess.

Enter the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

DCR is offering 81 "free or low-cost" activities across the state for students and families from Feb. 17 through Feb. 25.

Available activities include bird watching, craft-making, guided hikes and more.

The programming aims to connect students with nature and to "grow the next generation of environmental stewards," DCR commissioner Brian Arrigo said in a press release.

All of this is happening at 22 state parks and water properties across Mass. DCR says it will waive parking fees at the host locations.
