BOSTON (WBZ Newsradio) – Renowned hip-hop duo, Run the Jewels, and the rock/soul band known as Black Pumas will make their Boston Calling debut next year.

The groups will be performing at the three-day festival, held at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, next Memorial Day Weekend, which is May 27 through 29, 2022.

This will be Run the Jewels’ third time performing at Boston Calling. The duo is embarking on a 2022 North American tour as the opening act for Rage Against the Machine. Boston Calling will be the bands’ only New England show on the tour.

“Run the Jewels has been an incredible highlight at Boston Calling in years past,” said Boston Calling Events co-founder and chief executive officer Brian Appel. “We look forward to welcoming them and Black Pumas, an extraordinary new artist playing the festival for the first time."

Black Pumas is coming off a tremendous year. They received multiple Grammy nominations for their debut self-titled album and even performed at the 2021 Presidential Inauguration.

Both acts will join a to-be-announced lineup of more than 50 performers. All performers will be joining Foo Fighters and Rage Against the Machine, who were announced as the festival headliners in May.

Boston Calling has yet to announce a third headliner but plans on releasing more performer names over the next several months.

“As we get closer to our return in 2022, we’re excited to reveal more artists on our Boston Calling lineup each month” said Appel.

A limited number of early bird tickets 3-day tickets are on sale now on Boston Calling’s website.
