Boston Calling Announces New Stage Featuring Local & Regional Acts

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Calling is adding a new dedicated stage at this year's festival that will feature exclusively local and regional artists.

The stage, known as the Tivoli Audio Orange Stage, will feature 12 acts from all across New England who will play shows on all three days of the festival. These 12 artists bring the total of local acts at this year's festival to 20. The Tivoli Audio Orange Stage joins the festival's three other stages, the Green Stage, Red Stage, and Delta Blue Stage.

Some of the acts playing on the new Tivoli Audio Orange Stage include Ali McGuirk, a Boston-born and Burlington VT-based folk artist, Van Buren Records, a rap collective out of Brockton, Miranda Rae, the winner of the Boston Music Awards 2020 R&B Artist of the Year award, and Boston indie-rock duo Aaron and the Lord.

Other local and regional artists performing on the stage include Born Without Bones, Avenue, The Chelsea Curve, Coral Moons, Dutch Tulips, Cam Meekins, Crooked Coast, and Paper Tigers.

These acts join the festival's 2022 lineup that's headlined by Foo Fighters, The Strokes, and Metallica which also features popular acts like Rüfüs Du Sol, Weezer, HAIM, Run The Jewels, and Glass Animals. The entire lineup can be found on the festival's website.

Boston Calling is making its return this year after a two-year pandemic hiatus. The festival will take place Memorial Day Weekend—May 27-29, 2022—at the Harvard Athletic Complex.
