Boston City Councilor At-Large Essaibi George Announces Mayoral Run

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston City Councilor At-Large Annissa Essaibi George announced Thursday that she is running for mayor.

Essaibi George is the third city councilor to enter the mayoral race, including City Councilor At-Large Michelle Wu and City Councilor Andrea Campbell. This as Boston Mayor Marty Walsh prepares to join President Joe Biden's administration. He has been nominated for Labor Secretary.

Essaibi George made her announcement outside of East Boston High School in the snow.

"I'm excited about what I bring to the table, both my experience as a small business owner, my experience in the classroom," Essaibi George said. "I'm proud of the 13 years I taught here at East Boston High and I'm excited about the leadership that I'll bring to this city, especially through the rest of this pandemic and to the other side of recovery."
