Boston College Now Allowing Students To Bring Guests For 2021 Graduation

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Guests are now being allowed to attend the upcoming graduation ceremonies for Boston College.

The announcement was made after Boston College was given approval by the Boston Public Health Commission to expand capacity for indoor and outdoor events.

Undergraduates receiving degrees can now bring two people with them to the Baccalaureate Mass on May 23, as well as to the graduation in Alumni Stadium on May 24.

The update falls in line with new state Covid-19 guidelines that take effect next week -- including an increase in capacity to 25 percent for large venues like stadiums and arenas.

Graduate students, however, are only allowed to bring one guest to their ceremonies. Face coverings and social distancing will also be enforced.

Friends and family of students who still want to watch the ceremony from home will be able to tune in to a live-stream of the event.
