BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Sophia and Alec Fowler's wedding went from a planned-out ceremony, to a Boston elopement, and then finally to an improvised, last-minute event courtesy of the Omni Parker House. And the happy couple agreed that they wouldn't have had it any other way.

The Fowlers decided a month before their wedding that they did not want a big ceremony after all, so they planned to elope in Boston instead.

They set the date of their elopement for February 1st, on their five year anniversary.

“It was absolute insanity just about the week leading up to our wedding, but somehow everything came together perfectly," said Sophia.

But the Fowlers had no idea that their wedding plans were about to change again, and this time with less than an hour before it was set to begin.

Fifteen minutes before they were supposed to start taking wedding photos, however, Sophia and Alec learned that the venue was double booked. They had set up for a different event, and had no preparations ready for the happy, and now scrambling, couple.

“We have a problem,” said Sophia, recalling the chaotic moment.

But the Fowlers weren’t ready to give up on plans just yet. They improvised and managed to find a way to salvage their big day.

Transitioning to brainstorming mode, Sophia recalled how she “looked up, and the Omni Parker House happened to right outside the car window at that moment in time.”

Sophia told their driver, “Pull over!”

The couple said the hotel went “above, above and beyond,” and helped the pair have their wedding on time. They also received a personalized Boston Cream Pie, which the Omni Parker House is known for.

Sophia and Alec had their ceremony in one of the hotel's historic rooms, and Alec's father officiated, said the wedding photographer in her Instagram post.

The couple even took some wedding photos in Quincy Market, where they enjoyed a lobster roll together.

Reflecting on the experience, Sophia shared, “I remember thinking, ‘Is this a movie?’” Her husband agreed. “It was like a story, like someone wrote it up from start to finish.”

Alec added that "it just ended up working out in the most perfect way, and we could have never even imagined it.”

Sophia described that "it was complete insanity, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Alec summarized the whole event, from a ceremony at the Omni Parker House to photos with lobster rolls at Quincy Market, when he said, "What more could you ask for from a Boston wedding?"
