Boston Couple's Love Story Featured In New York Times

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Boston couple who connected over their mutual love for running now have their very own love story running in the New York Times.

With a little help from a dating app, Billy Pitman and Jessica Jeffrey met in 2017.

"Billy had a picture of himself running the Boston Marathon," Jessica told WBZ NewsRadio. "Ive been a runner since high school, so running is a part of my life."

In 2018, Billy helped Jessica train for the upcoming Boston Marathon.

"[That] was a really great way to grow a relationship, I think," Jessica said.

"Bonding over running... it's been a fun journey," Billy added. "We're excited for the next phase."

The two got engaged this January, and despite the pandemic, they got married in October in a small ceremony. The New York Times liked their love story so much, they ran it this week.

"I guess they're now turning that into these little stories, instead of your traditional wedding announcement," Billy said. "It's pretty cool."

The couple said they're buying several copies of the Times this weekend.
