CHELSEA, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Getting to Logan Airport just became a little easier.
The MBTA unveiled the Route 104 bus route, which will connect Malden Center and Airport Station via Everett Square and Bellingham Square.
The route was phase one of the MBTA’s bus route redesign project.
Chelsea City Manager Fidel Maltez was excited for what the new routes will offer residents.
“Route 104 will provide Chelsea residents with greater flexibility, and better connections to Logan Airport, the Blue Line, and key employment centers,” said Maltez.

“Over the next few years, we will add 25% more service across the MBTA’s bus network with over 400 bus operators,” said MBTA General Manager Phillip Eng.
Eng was joined for a ride on the route 104 bus from the Mystical Mall in Chelsea to Logan Airport by elected officials from Chelsea, Everett, and Malden.
Among those in attendance was Mass. State Representative Judith Garcia.
“We’re making Massachusetts a more prosperous state when we ensure that our residents are getting to their jobs, where they’re getting to the airport, to Malden, and to cities where they can continue to thrive,” Garcia said.
Route 104 has now been designated a frequent bus route, and runs every 15 minutes from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Routes 86, 104, 109, 110, 116 and 117 are set to undergo service changes.
