Boston Fire Department Contains Hydraulic Fluid Spill At Parking Garage

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Boston Fire Department said a major water leak at a Boston parking garage on Thursday caused more than 100 gallons of hydraulic fluid to overflow into the street.

The department said the water leak happened at around 9:15 a.m at 12 DryDock Ave in Boston, when water filled the machine and elevator rooms and caused the fluid to spill, generating a Level 2 Hazmat Response.

The water leak was shut down by the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, and Boston Fire contained the fluid spill shortly after 11 a.m.

Hazmat techs and cleaning crews remained on the scene after the spill to supervise clean-up.
