Boston Firefighter Injured In Early-Morning Blaze

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Boston firefighter was sent to the hospital Tuesday morning after battling an early-morning blaze in a Brighton apartment building. The injuries are described as minor and not life-threatening.

The Boston Fire Department got the call around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning for a fire in a four-story apartment building at 123 Sutherland Road.

The fire was contained to one apartment on the first floor, although other apartments were damaged. None of the residents were injured, but a number of have been displaced.

Officials say the fire caused about $100,000 in damage to the building.
