BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston hotel workers threatened to extend strikes into next week if their demands are not met.

Striking workers from the Hilton Boston Park Plaza and the Hilton Boston Logan Airport hotels along with UNITE HERE Local 26 elected officials will meet at Statler Park on Friday, Oct. 25 at 5pm.

Approximately 600 Hilton hotel workers have been on an open-ended strike since Oct. 6.

This comes after 685 Omni Boston Seaport and Omni Parker House hotel workers struck a tentative agreement with Omni Hotels & Resorts after a five day strike that began on Oct. 14.

The contract that was ratified on Oct. 20 met the Union’s core demands, including historic wage increases of $10/hour over four years for non-tipped workers, guaranteed affordable healthcare, and improved hiring and severance language that will keep union hotel jobs sustainable and secure.

After the Omni agreement, the Union is demanding that remaining hotel companies work to settle similar agreements with their employees on the principle of “One City, One Standard.”

The UNITE HERE Local 26 represents workers serving in the hospitality industries across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
