BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – As of 8:00 am on Friday morning, masks will be required to be worn indoors around the City of Boston.
The indoor mask mandate covers all indoor public settings including restaurants, recreation facilities, museums, hotels and public transportation.
It also applies to private, invite-only events that are open to the public. This means that anyone attending an event in a hotel ballroom, social club or convention center should mask up as well.

Wearing a mask indoors is required for anyone over the age of 2 and there are exceptions for people who have trouble breathing and people with disabilities.
The mandate does not apply to outdoor spaces.
