BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Korean food truck vender Bibim Box is setting up shop temporarily in the Boston Public Library’s Map Room Lounge, located in the library’s Central branch.
This residence is part of The Catered Affair and CommonWealth Kitchen’s ‘Community Table’ program, which gives food venders like Bibim Box the opportunity to spread the word via a popular dining spot, while also testing the waters of running a fleshed out restaurant.
Justin Won, owner of Bibim Box, explained that they specialize in bibimbap, a Korean rice bowl with seasoned vegetables, a protein of choice, dressing, and a fried egg on top. They also sell more typical rice bowls, noodle bowls, salads, and sandwiches.

He said how great an experience this is for his restaurant and shared his excitement about serving his food to so many people.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase my food, to feed people in Boston and tourists. Just get my name out, like, who I am and serve my Korean food,” Won said. “There's a lot of foot traffic at the library, people from all over the world come over here and I get to feed them.”
Bibim Box’s Map Room Lounge residence lasts from Aug. 22 to Aug. 31.
