BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hundreds gathered at Copley Square to rally in honor of immigrant workers and to call for strong unions for working families.
Participants in the rally, which was organized by labor union 32BJ, marched from Copley Square to the Boston Common.
Sen. Ed Markey spoke at the rally.
“We will fight for our immigrants every single day, and send the message to [President] Donald Trump that he will not win,” Markey said.
After stepping off the podium, Markey spoke more about the importance of the immigrant community and the labor rights movement.
“We have a responsibility to stand up for them, to give them the same opportunities that we were given,” Markey said.
