BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — In Boston, there's a new way to tell you where to go when you have to go.
To the bathroom, that is.
The City of Boston has published a new, interactive guide that identifies the locations of public restrooms in Boston.
It happens to most everyone at some point.
Out, and about, in the city, when nature calls.
Boston has never been considered the easiest place to find an accessible public restroom.
Most places that do have public restrooms usually require something to be purchased.
When visitors to the city while on Boston Common on Tuesday were asked if the city had enough public bathrooms, their answers were quick, emphatic, and consistent. "No!" "God, no!" "No!"
Meanwhile, with the World Cup games in town, Porta Pottys are lined up on the Common.
But that's the exception. "I can see why down here there's so many people, I can see why it would be an issue," said this visitor while on the Common.
Even with the new map, however, there were still complaints that there's not enough restroom locations on it.
This visitor was asked if Boston still has work to do on its restroom guide. "Yeah, I believe so," she said.
This visitor from Maine, though, had a positive spin to the guide after it directed him to a public restroom. "It was actually really clean, and it was really nice," he said.
He added it was a big step up from the alternative. "Porta Pottys are kind of disgusting."
